Our client required us to graphically portray the site to illustrate potential impacts on the streetscape. We also surveyed existing trees to ensure the proposal would not adversely affect them This gateway industrial development had strict security requirements ensuring that visibility and surveillance would not be compromised by extensive plantings.
The NSW Department of Housing engaged ecodesign to work with Custance Architects to provide the remediation of an extensive green roof system. This Rooftop garden had fallen into disrepair and was leaking into below commercial offices.
Our brief was to create an intensive green roof system whereby the planted area was greatly reduced but thus provided the opportunity for residents within the adjacent tower to enjoy both permanent gardens but also providing the opportunity for residents to have raised vegetableand/or herb gardens.

An excellent example of the collaborative design process whereby the integration of the built form and landscape have been integrated. The Architects have designed the rooftop to emulate water running of Uluru and as such it is channelled down the side of the structure into an ephemeral creekbed.
Our brief required the provision of native plants which could be harvested for browse for animals being treated in the adjacent Vet Science Buildings.
We were engaged by Delfin Lend Lease to design and document a striking setting for their sales office at the new suburb Ropes Crossing. We selected and sourced drought and frost tolerant species that provided an instant effect. We also detailed and specified sculpture, pots and a water feature.

Our clients brief was to create a sense of warmth and interest for the buildings occupants. The space is connected to the cafeteria and is viewed from all sides and above.
An entertaining BBQ outdoor kitchen was specified with a large wall feature which extends up a currently blank multi story facade. Extensive plating is provided in GRC planters and informal and formal seating has been provided for individuals small and large groups.
