The consultation is the most influential stage of the design process. The consultation is the initiation of communication between the designer and the client. This dialogue is imperative to the successful realisation of the project.
During the initial consultation we discuss concepts, potential schemes and styles for your garden. This will then form the brief for the design documentation.
The consultation provides you with direct involvement in the design development. We aim to involve you as much as possible in the development of the design.
Below are some areas of interest which you can research or think about prior to your consultation, to ensure you get value from your consultation.
Landscape structures include pools, spas, water features, garden lighting, irrigation, outdoor kitchen, pizza ovens, sculpture, paving, pergolas, decks, cabanas, sheds, chook sheds, feature walls, green walls, green roofs, masonry fences and gazebos.
It is important to consider what your lifestyle requirements are. Ask yourself whether the garden is to be used for relaxation or for kids to play in or do you have any pets that will use the garden? These factors will directly influence your design.
Ask yourself what garden style suits your needs and wants. Collect pictures from magazines and books or take photos of other gardens that you like, this will help to express your individual style.
What plants do you like or dislike? What are your favourite colours and scents? Do you have pictures from magazines that you like? What have you previously had success / no success with?
Limitations to consider for your garden include service easements (water, gas, electricity, and phone), bushland, bushfire, space, views, access, sunlight, water and your budget
